Developing a framework for integrating functional and whole genome sequence data in large population cohorts.

Summary

This project aims to integrate functional data into our association analysis framework to identify regions where rare non-coding variation associated with complex phenotypes using whole genome sequence data in large population cohorts. It will then be applied to identify regions implicated in schizophrenia and bipolar disorder risk

How are we doing it?

I will combine functional data in fetal brain tissues with genetic data from large population cohorts (UK Biobank and All of Us) to develop methods which maximise statistical power to detect and understand the impact of genetic variation associated with neurodevelopmental disorders and cognitive traits.
