Phil is a Respiratory Consultant at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and a BRC Mid-Career Fellow. His clinical and research work focuses on the management of chronic lung infections, particularly in people with cystic fibrosis and bronchiectasis.
He serves as a clinical consultant to the University of Exeter–based Citizen Phage Library and is a member of Phage UK. He is the Exeter lead for national clinical trial collaborations CTAP and Bronch-UK, and chairs the Cystic Fibrosis Trust South & South-West Network.
Phil’s current research includes phage therapy, fungal–bacterial co-infections, immune responses to Aspergillus, and helminth infection. He also contributes to the CF Trust Innovation Hub (Trailfinder) and AIRNET (a bronchiectasis research platform). He is Principal Investigator on multiple clinical trials, including studies in phage therapy and yoga.
