Stuart trained in Clinical Bioinformatics as part of the NHS Scientist Training Programme before a short foray into phytopathogen research for the University of Exeter Biosciences Department. He then returned to human genetics for the University of Exeter Clinical and Biomedical Sciences Department where he worked with population datasets such as the UK Biobank to investigating the genetics of complex traits.
Stuart is now pursuing his interests in the genetics of rare disease as part of the Wellcome Discovery funded PARADIGM Project, which is led by Prof. Caroline Wright.
