Yinghui is Professor of Data Science in Applied Health at the University of Exeter. She is interested in developing and applying data science approaches to improve health and care. Yinghui has research experience across a range of disease areas, including infectious diseases, neurodegenerative disorders, mental illnesses, renal diseases, cardiovascular diseases, autoimmune disorders, diabetes, and hospital-acquired infections.

Her research involves the use of NHS data, national registry databases, and large-scale, population-wide datasets from linked electronic health records and longitudinal cohort studies within Trusted Research Environments or Secure Data Environments. Yinghui’s methodological expertise includes clinical prediction models, epidemiological study design and analysis, statistical methods for evidence synthesis, and the modelling of complex health data.
Yinghui works with Exeter BRC on data science and informatics related activities. She also serves as the Training Lead for Health Data Research UK South West.
