Ayesha joined the University of Exeter as a Senior Statistician in March 2023 in a joint role with the UKCRC registered Exeter Clinical Trials Unit and the Biomedical Research Centre. She is currently working on the STEPS II trial - a randomised controlled trial comparing Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) in addition to usual care, to usual care alone. As a senior statistician, Ayesha will advise and support on all aspects of clinical trials, including: developing initial research questions, designing efficient trials, writing funding applications, ensuring robust, reliable data collection, interim analyses, final reports and writing publications.
Ayesha has spent most of her career working in clinical trials. Prior to joining the University of Exeter, Ayesha was a Statistician at the Cancer Research Clinical Trials Unit (CRCTU) at the University of Birmingham. She has worked on phase I and II randomised controlled trials, primarily on CTIMPs but also has experience of surgery and device trials. Ayesha was a co-supervisor on several MSc projects.
